A Quiet Kitchen

If by some strange circumstance you've found your way here and are wondering "Where are the entries?", the answer is: there isn't much here yet. I'm going to be starting school sooner than I thought (in May rather than September). Add to that, I happen to be getting married in May, so I have other things that have priority on my time for the nonce.

So this blog is a sleeper that will awaken sooner or later. Until then, you can always go look at my Live Journal if you want to see what I'm up to.

Introduction

Welcome to Cibarious Fusion. After much prodding by my fiancee, Abby, I've finally started a food blog to chronicle my culinary adventures. But first, some words of explanation for those of you wondering what this blog's name means (from Dictionary.com):

Cibarious

\Ci*ba"ri*ous\, a. [L. cibaruus, fr. cibus food.] Pertaining to food; edible.

Fusion

[fyoo-zhuhn]
–noun.
8.(of food) combining usually widely differing ethnic or regional ingredients, styles, or techniques.

I've developed a particular style of hippie vegetarian cooking that over the years has tended to expand, engulf and assimilate ethnic cuisines, with special interest in Indian and Thai food. I love all things spicy (a restaurant gets a high rating from me if I walk away after a meal sniffling and sweating), but I've learned to tone down the fire level for those not so inclined.

I expect this blog will be mainly recipes, although I may dabble from time to time in the history, science or culture of food.

So welcome to my kitchen. Pull up a seat and have a drink; everything will be getting started soon.
